Hey everybody, Eric here! I get a lot of questions from local foodies about what goes into our pizza and bar-b-q dishes here at Ruthie’s, so I thought I’d showcase some of them on the Blog-B-Q.
First up is Maytag Blue Cheese. This is the king of domestic blue cheeses, and we feature it in two of our most popular menu items here at Ruthie’s — in our salad with apples and walnuts, and on our pizza with basil Marinara, Asiago and Mozzarella.
The second ingrediant is garlic confit, which is whole garlic cloves cooked in olive oil until soft. We feature garlic confit on our goat cheese pizza.
That’s it for now. Hope to see you soon!

For once, Ruthie's did not get rained out on a music night – just barely. Thanks to all of you who joined us on this unique neighborhood evening, and for those of you who could not make it, we had you in our hearts! We are eternally grateful to all of the musicians who made this possible; Dean Shot, Matt Daniels, Charlie Jones, and Ben and the Franklins, you guys were killer. Your talent and passion made this a night to remember and we are so lucky to have all of you as our friends.
Eric and I were so happy with our third year in business celebration. Great turn out, we didn't run out of food, and no cops were called. So all in all, we could not have asked for more.
The party was our way of saying thank you to all of you who support us and believe in what we are doing here at this little joint. You know we came up with the idea of Ruthie's while we were in New Orleans, and we wanted to recreate a little of that vibe here at home; tasty food, blues, and no pretense. This place is our home, and every time you come here we're sharing what we love with you. As I handed a plate of ribs to one of you, I heard a friend mutter – this place reminds me of New Orleans, and I walked away grinning ear to ear.
Also – just want you to know we are also on Facebook – Ruthies Bar-B-Q and Pizza – and you can see more pictures of the evening there!
Love, Ruthie and Eric
